Intel WiFi 7 BE200 loses connection after suspend/resume on Ubuntu 25.04 - seeking advice on solutio

I'm experiencing a common but frustrating issue with my Intel WiFi 7 BE200 card on Ubuntu 25.04 and would appreciate community advice on the best solution approach.

Hardware:

Laptop: IdeaPad Pro 5 14IAH10 - Type 83JK
WiFi Card: Intel WiFi 7 BE200 320MHz
OS: Ubuntu 25.04 (kernel 6.14.0-15-generic)
Firmware: 96.44729d4e.0 gl-c0-fm-c0-96.ucode

WiFi works perfectly on boot, but after suspend/resume, it cannot find any networks. The system shows the classic "Unable to change power state from D3cold to D0, device inaccessible" error in dmesg.

This appears to be a known issue with BE200 cards and power management
Manual driver reload (sudo modprobe -r iwlmvm iwlwifi && sudo modprobe iwlwifi iwlmvm) doesn't restore functionality
Only a full reboot restores WiFi

I have tried WiFi-specific udev rules to disable power management but it did not work. I also tested firmware updates (I have v96, v97 available), but still, did not work.

Any insights from the community would be greatly appreciated! I am really struggling to find any solutions.

I have now tried to downgrade to Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS to see if it could fix anything. Of course, it did not. If this is a problem, I can rollback to ubuntu 25.04 easily.

I have the exact same problem with the same Intel® Wi-Fi 7 BE200 on my Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i Aura Edition which it comes preinstalled in. This problem is in every distro I have tested with the last one being NixOS with the latest kernel (6.15)

Unfortunately, I also have this issue with my new IdeaPad Pro 5 14IAH10. I am on Arch and have the latest kernel and linux-firmware package installed. So it seems to be a pretty widespread issue with laptops containing the BE200 card.

I've reviewed the system specifications and noted that Ubuntu or Linux is not listed as supported. This issue may be related to the computer's compatible operating systems, so it would be best to contact Lenovo for further assistance.

You can find your system specifications here: Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 14IAH10 Specifications. To reach out to Lenovo and confirm the supported operating systems, please use this link: Lenovo Support. Additionally, for more information about using Linux with Intel wireless cards, you can refer to our article on Linux* Support for Intel® Wireless Adapters.

For further troubleshooting, we recommend obtaining the latest Intel wireless firmware by installing the latest stable Linux kernel. Once the Linux kernel is installed, the Intel Wi-Fi interfaces should automatically become available, as the necessary firmware is included.

Step 1: Check the dmesg log to verify the current Linux kernel and wireless firmware version.

Step 2: If the dmesg log shows that the system is not using the latest Intel wireless firmware, install the latest stable kernel. For instance, you can install the latest stable version of the mainline kernel, 6.15, from kernel.org, which includes the latest wireless drivers, and also install the latest wireless firmware from the firmware git tree.

Alternative to Step 2: If the Intel WiFi device is not available under a supported kernel, you can obtain the latest wireless firmware from the firmware git tree, manually install the firmware, and load the wireless driver:

# sudo cp iwlwifi-* /lib/firmware/'

# sudo modprobe iwlwifi

If the issue persists, it is advisable to contact Lenovo regarding their operating system support.

I just bought this device and installed Ubuntu. I had the same problem as you, but I found this blog and it helped me fix the issue. It's kind of a workaround, but if you have a better way to fix it, please let me know!
