Wifi be200 not working after suspend

Hello,

Upon boot my wifi works as expected.

Then after it has suspended (and woken up again) it does not work anymore (it doesn't find any networks), the only thing that makes it function is a full reboot.

The error message is something like "Unable to change power state from D3cold to D0, device inaccessible" in dmesg.

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 14IAH10.

I use Ubuntu 24.04.02 LTS.

I used both kernel 6.11.0-26.26 (os default) and 6.15 (latest).

I used firmware versions xx-94.ucode (os default) and xx-98.ucode (latest).

My wifi card is a be200, I think, see below.
lspci -nnk | grep -A2 0280

Kernel driver in use: iwlwifi

Apparently this is a common issue, but I haven't been able to find a solution.

Also command

sudo modprobe -r iwlmvm iwlwifi && sudo modprobe iwlwifi iwlmvm

does not work.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Drivers/firmware etc. is new for me so if there is any other information I can provide please let me know.

1. Were you able to have wireless connection in a normal/expected performance before?

2. Have you installed any recent software or hardware in your system?

3. Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed in your system, or have you changed/installed a new adapter recently?

4. Is this issue happening at home, office environment or both?

5. Have you checked if this issue happens on different networks?

Thank you for helping me out.

1. Were you able to have wireless connection in a normal/expected performance before?
I just bought my laptop, less than 2 weeks ago. I bought my laptop without an operating system installed. I then installed Ubuntu, and I’ve had this issue ever since. So to answer your question, no, I did not have normal/expected performance before.

2. Have you installed any recent software or hardware in your system?
I did not install any hardware. And besides the ubuntu software system, no new software either.

3. Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed in your system, or have you changed/installed a new adapter recently?
This is the original adapter. I have not touched it.

4. Is this issue happening at home, office environment or both?
This is a personal laptop, so in home environments. But I imagine that in an office I would have the same issue.

5. Have you checked if this issue happens on different networks?
I’ve had this issue in multiple locations, as everywhere I am I have this issue.
The problem is that after a suspend the wifi does not work in any way whatsoever. By consequence it is also unable to discover any networks, the wifi card just seems to be turned off.

Lastly, I also imagine the technical details in my original post above here might be of use to you as well.

Thank you for sharing all this information.

Upon reviewing the specifications of the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 14IAH10, it appears that Linux operating systems are not fully supported on this device. This may be contributing to the issue you are currently experiencing.

Have you had the opportunity to verify Linux compatibility by contacting the original equipment manufacturer (OEM)? If not, I kindly recommend doing so. Once you have confirmation, please inform me so I can assist you further with the investigation.

Dear Jed,

I have just opened a thread on the Lenovo forum, I'm awaiting replies.
I do not think this device ships with linux out of the box, but it is possible to order without os (what I did).
In any case, I immagine intel would like its components/drivers to function also on linux.

The Intel wireless component is generally expected to function properly on Linux-based operating systems, provided that the system's hardware is compatible.

Since you have already reached out to Lenovo to verify whether your system officially supports Linux, may I kindly ask if you have received any updates from them regarding this matter?

Hi everyone,
I found my solution!

For me a fresh ubuntu install (kernel 6.14), a `sudo apt full-upgrade` and the script above did the trick.
Even if sudo modprobe -r iwlmvm iwlwifi gives an error it still works
