I have the lastest drivers installed, no luck

I'm on Windows 11 build 25H2 but still no LE audio option in Windows. There should be an additional toggle under Bluetooth devices that said "Use LE audio when available" but it is not there. Microsoft also say it's an Intel issue as they have support for LE audio in Windows 11 now when paired with supported hardware.

I can get the toggle mentioned above to appear if I install the intel smart sound driver for an arbitrary device but expectedly doesnt help as the audio does not play.

I have checked everything and there is nothing hardware wise that would be incompatible with LE audio in my pc.

Will provide more infomation if needed

Cheers

Same here, I am a Windows Insider user with Windows 11 25H2 build 26220.7271 (so I certainly have my Windows up to date) and also have my Intel card up to date at version 23.170.0.

Just like you, I don't see the toggle about Bluetooth LE in the settings.

Hi riley3,

I hope you are doing well and thanks for waiting. Please be advised that Intel® Wireless and Bluetooth® Adapters support the most available codecs. However, the operating system (OS) uses those codecs natively on respective peripherals, not the adapter. Therefore, if there is an issue or having more inquiries about "codec support" we recommend contacting Microsoft Technical Support.

Best regards,

Kent Russel P.

Intel Customer Support Technician

Kent,

Was this issue ever resolved. I have the same issue as the original post. All Intel drivers are up to date on my Microsoft Surface Pro 9 running Windows version 25h2. There is no option to select "Use Bluetooth LE Audio when available." Therefore, I am unable to connect my hearing aids to my Surface Pro. Please advise. Thank you.

Chris

I am facing the s

Adding another data point since I've dug into this pretty deeply and think it's clearly an Intel driver issue, not a Microsoft/codec issue as suggested above.

Hardware: HP Victus 15-fa1276TX, Intel Core i7-13620H (Raptor Lake), Intel AX211, Windows 11 25H2 (build 26200.8875)

What I found:

The toggle only appears when a "Intel Smart Sound Technology for Bluetooth LE Audio" device exists in Device Manager — it's not tied to whether the device actually works, just whether it's present. This matches what others here have found (manually adding the device via legacy hardware makes the toggle appear but doesn't make audio work).

With the LE Audio device present, it consistently fails with Code 10, alternating between status 0xC000000D (STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER) and 0xC0000001 (STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL) depending on driver state, on both the Capture and Render child device instances.

I checked the radio's own LE Local Supported Features bitmask via Device Manager (Bluetooth radio > Properties > Advanced), and bits 28/29 (Connected Isochronous Stream - Master/Slave) are both supported at the hardware level. So the AX211 radio itself is capable — the failure is happening in the driver layer above it (IntcBtLE.sys / the newer IntcSBtLe.inf/ACX-based driver).

I tried multiple driver versions: the original 10.29.0.11516 (Oct 2024), a newer 10.29.0.12635 (Feb 2026, correct generation family per Microsoft's own Teams Native Bluetooth Peripherals compatibility doc, which lists 10.29.00.11261+ for 12th/13th Gen), and even the newer 20.43.12784.6 "ACX Streaming" build (May 2026) meant for Core Ultra platforms. All fail the same way on Code 10.

Tested with a confirmed LE Audio device (Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro, LC3/LE Audio capable) — same result.

This looks like a genuine gap in Intel's LE Audio driver initialization on Raptor Lake platforms specifically, not a Microsoft/OS-level codec support issue, since the hardware capability is confirmed present and multiple driver generations all fail at the same initialization stage. Happy to provide SSU logs/Event Viewer exports if that helps move this forward.

ame issue

However, when the headphones connect, the dynamically created Intel SST Bluetooth LE Audio RENDER and CAPTURE devices both fail with Code 10:

CM_PROB_FAILED_START
ProblemStatus: 0xC0000001

The root Intel SST Bluetooth LE Audio device itself starts successfully.

I have exactly the same problem.

After additional testing, I found that the important part is actually the ibtusb.sys file.

The driver package contains two different packages with the same version 24.40.11.1, but with different ibtusb.sys files:

ibtusb.inf_amd64_40aa1feca333f0b1
ibtusb.sys — 2.43 MB
SHA-256: 7A46C2DCF681F4B0DF1CBF2CE459F6F30651D1E41B31D4CE34234952C9E5121D
→ HFP microphone works
ibtusb.inf_amd64_41b930af5c4e75c8
ibtusb.sys — 7.89 MB
SHA-256: DD04F9AA2F6D2442AE7A10215412C62B32A48205AABA60D457E8AD30034AB445
→ HFP microphone does not work
So there are two different ibtusb.sys binaries under the same driver version number.

In my case, replacing the 7.89 MB ibtusb.sys with the 2.43 MB ibtusb.sys fixed the microphone problem.

This suggests that there may be an incorrect INF-to-SYS mapping in the driver package: either the wrong SYS is assigned to the Hardware ID USB\VID_8087&PID_0033, or there is a problem inside that particular SYS build.

I hope Intel can look into this issue and fix it in a future driver release, so users don't have to manually replace ibtusb.sys.

I found a working solution for the HFP microphone issue on my system:

The workaround is to add a REG_DWORD value named HfpOffloadDisable with a value of 1 under the Bluetooth device's Device Parameters registry key.

The exact registry path is device-specific. For an Intel AX211, the path starts with:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\VID_8087&PID_0033\

The remaining part is the device-specific instance ID. In my case:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\VID_8087&PID_0033\5&35fdc693&0&14\Device Parameters

Add:

HfpOffloadDisable — REG_DWORD — 1

Then reboot Windows.

After the reboot, the Intel Bluetooth driver automatically changes Sco Support Type from 2 to 0. In my case, this made the HFP Hands-Free audio device and microphone appear and the microphone started working.

I found a workaround that got LE Audio working/available on my system.

My setup

Windows 11 Home

Windows 11 25H2, build 26200.x

Intel 13th Gen / Raptor Lake

Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211

ASUS ROG STRIX B760-A GAMING WIFI

Sony WH-1000XM6

The AX211 itself reported support for LE Secure Connections and Connected Isochronous Streams (CIS), but Windows did not show the “Use LE Audio when available” setting.

The missing device was:

Intel® Smart Sound Technology for Bluetooth® LE Audio

What I did

I obtained Intel SST driver package 10.29.0.12108. (softpedia, windows only got me .exe no .cab) The package contains:

IntcBtLE.inf
IntcBtLE.sys
IntcBtLE.cat

I extracted the CAB and installed the LE Audio INF using an elevated PowerShell:

pnputil /add-driver "C:\PATH\TO\IntcBtLE.inf" /install

However, the device did NOT appear automatically in Device Manager.

Manually adding the device

In Device Manager:

Select Sound, video and game controllers

Go to Action → Add legacy hardware

Select Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)

Select Show All Devices

Select Intel Corporation as the manufacturer

Select:

Intel® Smart Sound Technology for Bluetooth® LE Audio

Complete the installation.

After that, the device appeared under Sound, video and game controllers.

In Properties → General, Windows reported:

This device is working properly.

The result

After adding the device, Windows finally showed:

Use LE Audio when available

under:

Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Devices

I enabled the option, and Windows now has LE Audio support available.

Important note

This is a workaround, not a claim that Intel officially recommends manually adding the device this way.

On some systems, manually installing the Intel SST LE Audio driver may result in Code 10 or the LE Audio render/capture devices failing to start. So I would recommend creating a restore point first and not forcing an incompatible INF.

But on my AX211 + Raptor Lake + Windows 11 25H2 system, this was the missing step:

Installing IntcBtLE.inf alone was not enough → manually adding the Intel SST Bluetooth LE Audio legacy device made Windows expose the LE Audio setting.

Hope this helps someone else who is stuck with the missing LE Audio toggle.

Yes i wrote this with ChatGPT but the solution is my own (English is not my first language) <LI-EMOJI id="lia_slightly-smiling-face" title=":slightly_smiling_face:"></LI-EMOJI>
