Hello mth,

Thank you for taking the time to run the scan and for sharing the SSU report. Based on the SSU details, I can see that the system is currently running the latest Windows version. Since the issue appears to have occurred after a recent Windows update, one recommended step would be to perform a System Restore to revert the system to a state prior to the update installation.

If the issue is resolved after the System Restore, this would indicate a possible OS version or update compatibility concern with the system. This information will help me better isolate the root cause and determine the most appropriate next steps. Please let me know if you’ve already attempted a System Restore. I’m here to help and will continue supporting you through this process.

Thank you.

Hi mth,
Thank you for posting in our Community. I appreciate the time you took to outline the issue so clearly.

Based on your description, this behavior is a known compatibility issue between Windows 11 (Build 26200 / 24H2) and the Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 adapter. While the driver package is technically compatible, this specific adapter is OEM-dependent, meaning it relies heavily on Lenovo-customized drivers and firmware. As a result, generic Intel drivers may install successfully but fail to start, leading to Code 10 and “Device settings not migrated” errors after Windows updates. Below is the exact and recommended fix, which has proven effective in similar cases.

Ensure that the adapter supports 160MHz channel bandwidth. The Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 does support this feature.

Download and install the latest Intel® Wireless Wi-Fi Driver. After installation, perform a clean installation of the driver.

Contact the Access Point (AP) manufacturer to confirm that the device supports 160MHz channel bandwidth with the latest firmware. Setting a fixed 160MHz channel width may lead to weaker connections; consider using an 'Auto' setting for optimal performance.

If the issue still the same, Install the Lenovo OEM Wireless Driver. Because this adapter is tied to Lenovo’s BIOS and power management, please install the driver directly from Lenovo. In most cases, Wi-Fi functionality is restored immediately after reboot.

Go to Lenovo Support

Enter your laptop’s serial number or model

Download the Wireless LAN (Intel) driver specifically listed for Windows 11

Install the driver

Restart the system

Additionally, be aware that there is a distinction between Intel® Wireless Drivers and those provided by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). If you are not receiving driver support from your computer manufacturer, you can download generic Intel® Wireless Drivers.

To be transparent, The Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 is a legacy CNVi adapter, and newer Windows builds rely on updated firmware hooks that are only fully supported through OEM-tuned drivers. Generic Intel drivers may appear compatible but can fail due to BIOS-level dependencies, hence the migration and Code 10 errors.

Have a nice day!

Best regards,

I assume there is some physical issue with the driver.

Hello mth,

Thank you for taking the time to test both the Lenovo-recommended driver and the generic Intel® Wireless drivers, and for clearly sharing the outcome. To answer your question directly: yes, it is possible for the driver installation to complete successfully even if the Wi-Fi card itself is experiencing a physical or hardware-level issue. The driver installer mainly verifies software compatibility and the presence of the device at a basic level, it does not fully validate the operational health of the hardware. As a result, a successful installation does not always guarantee that the wireless adapter is functioning correctly.

I will need to do further research on this matter and post the response on this thread once available.

To help resolve the issue, I recommend doing a fresh installation of the wireless driver. Please use the following driver specific to your system: Lenovo Drivers

Hello mth,

Thanks for the update. Since you installed the latest driver from the Lenovo support page (nz7w809w.exe), may I kindly check if the Wi-Fi connection is now consistently working? Have you noticed whether the issue is still occurring after several restarts, or does the connection remain stable at this time? Please let me know the current behavior so I can determine the next best steps, if needed.
