Subject: Intel Wireless Bluetooth - HFP profile not establishing, Microsoft Bluetooth A2DP Source missing from Device Manager

Body:

I am unable to use the microphone of my Sennheiser Momentum M2 OEBT headphones on my HP B8SQ8EA#AB8 with Intel Wireless Bluetooth (Intel Core 7 150U).
System info:
OS: Windows 11 Pro 25H2 (Build 26200.8246)
Bluetooth adapter: Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) — driver version 24.30.1.1 (latest)
Headphones: Sennheiser Momentum M2 OEBT
Problem: The headphones connect successfully in A2DP mode (stereo audio works fine), but the HFP (Hands-Free Profile) never establishes. In Sound Settings, only "Headphones - MOMENTUM M2 OEBT" appears as both input and output — there is no separate "Headset Microphone" entry. Selecting the headphones as microphone input produces only static noise.
Key finding in Device Manager: Under Bluetooth devices, Microsoft Bluetooth A2DP Source is completely missing. There are no HFP-related entries at all. The hardware ID showing as unknown is: BTHENUM\{1ddce62a-ecb1-4455-8153-0743c87aec9f}_VID&00010082_PID&004a
Troubleshooting already performed:
Verified SCOEnabled = 1 in registry (HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{e0cbf06c...}\0000)
Restarted Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service, Bluetooth Support Service
Unpaired and re-paired headphones multiple times, including full reset of headphones
Removed all hidden Bluetooth devices in Device Manager and re-paired
Ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and sfc /scannow — no errors found
Performed Windows 11 in-place repair — issue persists
Intel Bluetooth driver is fully up to date
Additional evidence: The same headphones work perfectly (including microphone/HFP) on another PC running Realtek Bluetooth (HP laptop, model B8SQ8EA). On that machine, Realtek Bluetooth Device Manager Service is present and running, and the headset microphone appears correctly as a separate input device.
Conclusion: This appears to be an Intel Bluetooth driver incompatibility with the Sennheiser Momentum M2 OEBT HFP profile. The SCO audio channel required for HFP is not being established by the Intel adapter. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Same headphones work perfectly including microphone on another PC with Realtek Bluetooth (ASUS Vivobook 15 X1504VA-NJ1500).

I want to make an important update:

The problem does not occur on other systems.

Test results:

- Headset: Sennheiser MOMENTUM M2 OEBT
- System 1 (working): ASUS X1504VA → HFP is working correctly (microphone available)
- System 2 (problematic): HP B8SQ8EA → HFP is not working (microphone device not visible)

On the problematic HP system:

- "MOMENTUM M2 OEBT Hands-Free" does not appear in Device Manager
- It does not appear in Recording Devices
- The sound is only crackling, it doesn't pick up sound

This confirms that:

The headset is working correctly and the problem may be specific to the HP system because I previously opened the logs in the links below for my old HP laptop.

UPDATE : After writing to you, I tried it with my friend's Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 headphones and found that I was experiencing the exact same problem.

Update:

I'm able to use my headset without any problems when I plug in the TP-Link UB500 5.0 Bluetooth adapter and disable Intel Bluetooth. The microphone issue is resolved. However, I aim to solve this problem without using an external Bluetooth transmitter.
