Hello Paul, according to the specifications linked below your system came preinstalled with a separate Bluetooth* module (PA3710U-1BTM Toshiba Bluetooth 2.1EDR USB Nano Adapter); this explains the behavior you are getting as the devices will conflict with each other.

http://support.toshiba.com/support/staticContentDetail?contentId=3054316&isFromTOCLink=false http://support.toshiba.com/support/staticContentDetail?contentId=3054316&isFromTOCLink=false

We highly encourage you contacting Toshiba* so they can provide you with a list of validated wireless adapter models for your system or the steps for you to get the Bluetooth* functionality working.

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-031167.htm Intel® Wi-Fi Products — Why Doesn't My Laptop Recognize My New Intel Wireless Adapter?

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/sb/CS-006192.htm Wireless Networking — Installation Error when Installing or Swapping Intel Wireless Adapters

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-011644.htm Intel® Wi-Fi Products — Regulatory Information Regarding Hardware Installation or Upgrade

Hello, I just purchase and installed an Intel 7260AC in my Toshiba c655d-s5200. WLAN installed and works flawlessly, but Bluetooth is completely missing. Bluetooth is not listed in my device manager. I have installed all the latest drivers including the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack from Toshiba's support page. I'm thinking at this point my motherboard may be incompatible. Anyone else experiencing this issue? If so please advise.

Thank you,

Paul DaSIlva

Are you sure that you don't have a software switch to turn on the BT radio? If the radio isn't on, then, generally speaking, the device doesn't appear in Device Manager. Maybe your laptop has a hotkey for it. On ThinkPads, for example, it appears on the same on-screen menu for turning on the wifi radio or enabling Airplane mode.

Do you have a Fn key that works in concert with the F keys at top? Play with them.

Check out Intel's downloads for their latest drivers: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProdId=3622 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProdId=3622

Thank Joe but my unit does not currently or ever have a bluetooth nano adapter. I also have no physical wlan switch only thru hotkey function which only turns on and off my wifi. It's like the board won't recognize the device. I checked with toshiba and they said it was a compatible card. This is my second unit shipped so I know its not the card. What's the chances of two separate cards experiencing the same issue.

I wonder if you will see the preinstalled Bluetooth adapter in Device Manager after physically removing the Intel wireless adapter from your system. It is possible that the Toshiba's adapter is soldered to the main board and, therefore, not visible, but it probably needs to be disabled.

In any case, you may check with the system manufacturer for further instructions on how to get Bluetooth working.

You can also get live assistance by contacting an Intel support representative.

Phone: 1-916-377-7000 (option 5), Monday – Friday, 07:00 to 17:00 (US Pacific Time)

http://intelsupportchat.force.com/icslivechat Live Chat

http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/contactsupport Contact Support

My system originally came with a Realtek wifi adapter with no Bluetooth. I purchased this Intel 7260 and could not get the Bluetooth to recognize. After some research online, I purchased a used Artheros AR5B195 on eBay for $6 and I was able to get Bluetooth after a couple driver installs. Reinstall Intel adapter and Bluetooth disappears. Again WIFI works flawlessly but Bluetooth is inexistent. My only reason for keeping the Intel is for its WIFI capabilities.
