Hello Nathalie,

thanks for your response, I tried the steps you mentioned but the dashboard keeps starting in Lite mode. Is there a log file or something similar I can check to understand the reason for this? Can you describe which are che checks that the dashboard performs at startup?

thanks

Francesco

Hi everybody,

I installed the My Wifi Dashboard on a dell latitude which has an Intel Advanced N 6205 wireless card, I also installed the latest 15.1.1 drivers selecting all options (administration, enterprise wireless, etc.) but the dashboard keep displaying a message at startup which says that my hardware is capable of using the advanced wireless features, but that suitable software was not installed. I suppose this is the reason for which the Wireless and Hotspot switches are grayed out in the GUI. Can anybody help me? what can I do to let the dashboard detect the software?

thanks!!

Francesco

Thank you for your post.

Something that could cause this kind of an error message is if there is some driver/software mismatch; if what you did is just update the drivers then you might still have part of the original customized one from the laptop manufacturer.

Try this, try uninstalling the current drivers and software then re-install the ones you downloaded. See the steps below:

First download and save to your desktop the latest drivers and software package (file: Wireless_15.1.1_s64.exe or Wireless_15.1.1_s64.exe depending if you have Windows* 764 or 32 bit)

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21244&ProdId=3316&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21244&ProdId=3316&lang=eng

Then download and save to your desktop the dashboard software: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21246&ProdId=3316&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21246&ProdId=3316&lang=eng

Remove the Intel® PROSet software from Control Panel\ Control Panel home\ programs, 'uninstall a Program', check also for any other PROSet software and uninstall it too.

Go to 'Start' right-click on 'Computer' click on device manager (on the left panel) click on "Network Adapters"\Double-Click the adapter name\Drivers Tab and click on the "Uninstall" button if present.

Remove the Wireless folder found at C:\Users\YOUR_PROFILE_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Intel. (if you do not see the "AppData" folder you need to "unhide " it, pres 'alt' click on tools then 'folder options' in folder options click on 'view' then select "Show hidden files, folders and drives" then click ok )

Install the latest drivers. (Double-click on the icon of the driver, click next, then accept the agreement, select "Custom installation' make sure all the features are available, no red "X" marked)

Install the dashboard.

I have a Dell Precision M6500 with a Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN adapter. After messing around as I discovered various versions, I uninstalled using Windows uninstaller and tried to clear out the files in C:\Users\YOUR_PROFILE_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Intel (there were none???) then installed Wireless_15.2.0_s32.exe and Intel_My_WiFi_Dashboard_15.2.0_s32.msi, but still get Lite. Even though my computer is 32-bit Windows 7, should I have installed the s64 versions? Otherwise, what should I do?

Hi all,

Richard Solomon found the solution for issues with WiDi or My Wifi not working properly.

There is possibility that computer manufacturer is blocking the installation of My Wifi option because of security.

That's the reason of all others issues

1. Why option of My Wifi is not visible during the installation.

2. Why My Wifi Dashboard is only in Lite version (no WiFi direct)

3. Why WiDi is not unable to start

Solution is simple. Delete the registry key which inhibits this option.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UpgradeCodes\4AC91165C6D69DE419A86CDFF452E910]

"FFBD57B19EA05A2416DB668FE78A4352"=""

My specs

Dell Latitude E6320

Intel Centrino N 6205

Windows 7 Pro 64bit

Installed packages

Wireless_15.2.0_s64.exe (Intel PROSet Wireless software, drivers and My Wifi)

Setup 3.1.29.0.exe (Intel WiDi)

Everything is working finally...
