64 bit binaies or 32 bit binaries

When I type echo $PATH on my 64 bit Centos 6.3 system, I get

/home/james/advisor_xe_2013/bin64:...

which means that I am using the Parallel Advisor 64 bit binaries.

This happend when I typed:

source advixe-vars.sh

It is undesrtandable because my version of linux is 64 bit Centos 6.3.

Sometimes I may want to analyze a 32 bit executable so do i have to change the PATH to

32 bit binaries then? Can I still use what is shown in the PATH as the 64 bit binaries?

Any help appreciated. tahnks in advance.

You won't need to do anything special when analyzing 32-bit binaries. Please let me know if you experience any difficulty with 32-bit application analyis. Please let me know if I can help further. Thank you. Intel Developer Support

I thought so. Then why are 32 bit binaries on this Intel Advisor install at all? It appers that we do not need them. Newport_j

Some of the Intel(R) Advisor XE 2013 product components use 32-bit binaries. For example, advixe-gui is a 32-bit application but there is no corresponding 64-bit version. So, both the directories are needed. Please let me know if I can help further. Intel Developer Support
