Hi,
I am unable to perform an analysis using advisor on MacOS 10.15.7. Given an executable "myfile" the following command
> advixe-cl --collect=survey --project-dir=./myproject -- ./myfile
generates the following errors:
>Intel(R) Advisor Command Line Tool
>Copyright (C) 2009-2021 Intel Corporation. All rights reserved.
>advisor: Error: Advisor cannot detect %device configuration.
>advisor: Error: Advisor cannot detect %device configuration.
>advisor: Error: Advisor cannot detect %device configuration.
>advisor: Error: A user error was detected during application execution.
My first idea was, that some configuration is missing. However, the file /opt/intel/oneapi/setvars.sh has been sourced and returns without any error.
Any hints are highly appreciated - Thanks!
System:
- Intel(R) Advisor 2021.4 (build 610727) Command Line Tool
- Executable generated using icc (ICC) 2021.4.0 20210910
- MacOS 10.15.7
- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7920HQ CPU @ 3.10GHz

Do you try to run analysis on Mac OS? Unfortunately, it is not supported. The proper way of using Advisor on Mac OS is described here - https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/technical/using-intel-advisor-on-a-macos-system.html
