I'm having trouble using VTune Amplifier on Linux. I'm trying to attach to a running process to use the hotspot analysis. The text on this window says that "This analysis type ... must either launch an application process or attach to one." I get a message saying that "THis analysis type doesn't support system-wide profiling or attaching to a process." Is this a bug or is the window text incorrect in saying that Hotspots analysis can attach to a running process?
Thanks
David

Attach-to-process feature is not supported for User_mode Sampling and Tracing Analysis, on Linux*. Please use this feature for Hardware Event-based Sampling Analysis, e.g. lightweight-hotspots.
Yes, on Windows the feature canbe supported for both.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
It would be great if the feature is released for Linux in a near future.
Thank you,
Dongwon
