I'm getting this error when VTune agent tries to upload data from a Target Machine.

 

I'm running version 2023.1.0 of VTune.

I'm manually running the agent with: 

./vtune-agent --admission-key-path=/root/admission.key --deployment-user=passphrase_authenticated_user --shared --log-level trace

 

Running the VTUNE Server GUI on the same machine : 

./vtune-backend --web-port=8080 --allow-remote-access --log-level debug

Could you please try out the below steps:


1. Set up password less ssh by following the below link:

2. Next step is to do port forwarding while connecting to the system:

 

Example : ssh -L 127.0.0.1:7000:127.0.0.1:7000 username@ip

 

Note: Here, we are port forwarding to the port 7000

 

3. Run Vtune backend using the below given command:

 

vtune-backend --allow-remote-access --enable-server-profiling --web-port 7000

 

4. Now, Paste that link into the browser to get VTune GUI

 

5. Click on configure analysis and in "where" pane select "Remote Linux (SSH)" option.

6. Fill the details about the remote server and deploy the agent.

 

7. After that in "what" pane select "Profile System" and fill the fields which are required in the "advanced" section

8. Now select the analysis type and click on run.

I would like to share a few things about my setup.

 

1. Running the VTUNE Profiler server where VTUNE Server and VTUNE Agent is running on the same server.

2. I am doing a sample python application profiling where it resides on the same server.

Please find the requested details:

 

  • Processor details : Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6314U CPU @ 2.30GHz
  • OS details : Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS (Focal Fossa)
  • Kernel version : 5.4.161-rt67-rc1

 

Please find the steps to reproduce the issue:

 

1. Install the VTUNE Profiler on the system with IP (10.X.X.X) where above Processor, OS and Kernel Version are met.

2. On that system, Bring up the VTUNE Server GUI using below command:

 

 

 

cd /opt/intel/oneapi/vtune/latest/bin64;./vtune-backend --web-port=7000 --allow-remote-access --enable-server-profiling --log-level debug

 

 

 

After this we can Open the VTUNE Server GUI using with https://10.X.X.X:7000

 

3. Run the VTUNE Agent on the same server using below command,

It is also recommended to use dedicated faceless accounts to run shared agents.

5. After this Run the analysis by clicking the RUN button.

Hi,

 

We are unable to reproduce your issue. 

 

It looks like you are clicking on "Add new remote target". Apologies, if the screenshot in above step 5 is causing confusion. Please click only on "Remote Linux(SSH)" and follow the same steps as mentioned above.
