Arria 10 and Stratix 10 PACs and Ubuntu 18.04

Is the PACs supported under Ubuntu 18.04?  I want to install it on that version, but I am getting conflicting information.  The oneAPI documentation has support for 18.04 but the software stack seems to support Redhat 7 only.

Hi RAM

Each SW tools/stack has their own qualified validation. The PAC card is validated in Redhat and you have to validate for OS other that Redhat 7. Theoretically it can be used on other OS.

Thanks.

Hi Eng,

Unfortunately, that was not a very helpful response. I think I found the answer to the question.  The current Linux kernel has support for the OPAE drivers and thus, if I install the opensource OPAE SDK, I think I should be able to get both the Arria 10 and Stratix 10 working on Ubuntu 18, 19, and 20.

Hi Ram

According to the guide below:

https://opae.github.io/1.0.2/docs/fpga_api/quick_start/readme.html

OPAE SDK release provides DKMS-based DEB packages for distributions using DEB (eg. Ubuntu) package managers.

On the other hand, the release guide for the PAC card below is validated using Red Hat* Enterprise Linux
