Intel recognizes the importance of innovative payment models as a way to improve the US healthcare system and applauds Secretary Burwell’s announcement that the Department of Health and Human Services will focus on tying payment to accountability. This and similar efforts in Congress through Medicare’s Sustainable Growth Rate reform and the “21st Century Cures” initiative offer great promise in moving the US toward a value based healthcare system.
As an employer, Intel is working with healthcare delivery systems to redesign payment models and leverage technology in ways that maintain our employee’s coverage while improving their health through a connected care experience, much like an Accountable Care Organization (ACO).
We look forward to working with the Department to share our experiences in building the foundation for integrated care.
