Yesterday, Intel’s global privacy officer, David Hoffman, testified before the House
Committee on Energy and Commerce on H.R. 5777, the BEST PRACTICES Act of 2010, introduced by Rep. Bobby Rush, and a discussion draft, released by Reps. Boucher and Stearns, to require notice to and consent of an individual prior to the collection and disclosure of certain personal information relating to that individual.
As Hoffman mentioned in his testimony, Intel believes that innovation requires a policy environment in which individuals feel confident that their privacy interests are protected.
