On Thursday November 27, the annual Leixlip Senior Citizens Christmas Party, hosted by Intel, took place. The party brings together seniors from the local community and a team of Intel employees to celebrate the festive season.
The senior citizens party has been running for over 20 years and continues to be a special evening both for local residents and for the Intel employees who attend. 250 guests from across Leixlip gathered at the Springfield Hotel for the party.
Volunteers welcomed the guests as they arrived and helped them get comfortable in their seats. Before the meal was served, Intel Ireland’s Public Affairs Director, Sarah Sexton, welcomed the guests and Fr. Aloysius Zuribo led a prayer of grace before dinner. Shortly afterwards, a traditional meal of turkey and ham was served to guests. This was followed by a tasty Christmas pudding dessert, tea and coffee.
Once dinner had been wrapped up, the band began to play, and everyone eagerly hit the dancefloor. Bobby Harpur and the rest of the band kept the crowd entertained for the night. Everyone was on their feet, and most guests remained on the dancefloor until the night came to a close in a traditional Christmas fashion with ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’.
As guests left the hotel, they were gifted a box of chocolates as a treat to take home.

We look forward to this celebration every year – it is always such a lovely evening and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate some of the most important people in our community," said Intel’s Public Affairs Director, Sarah Sexton.
