On Friday, October 3rd, Intel, whose campus in Leixlip is one of the largest manufacturing locations in Ireland, proudly participated in Ireland’s first-ever Manufacturing Day.

Manufacturing Day Ireland, led by Ibec, is a national celebration showcasing the innovation, skills, and career opportunities in modern manufacturing. Companies across the country welcomed students, educators, jobseekers, and local communities to see firsthand how Ireland’s manufacturing sector is shaping the future.

The Manufacturing Day event at the Leixlip campus included an overview of Intel's manufacturing process and operations, an opportunity to hear from Intel engineers and technicians about working in a manufacturing environment, a window tour of the fab manufacturing facility and a bus tour of our campus, showcasing the site infrastructure and facilities.

35 years ago Intel chose Leixlip as the home of its European manufacturing hub. In the years that followed, over €30 billion has been invested in the campus, the largest private investment in the history of the State. Intel's Ireland fab facilities manufacture some of the world's most advanced products on the Intel 4 and 3 process nodes.

Speaking about the event, Intel Ireland's Public Affairs Director Sarah Sexton said, "We were delighted to open our doors for Ireland's first ever Manufacturing Day. We are very proud to run some of the most complex manufacturing processes on the planet here in Leixlip, and it was a wonderful opportunity to share that with members of our local community. Manufacturing is such an important part of Irish industry and it's great to see a day of National recognition and celebration".
