For the sixth consecutive year, Intel has announced that, thanks to hours volunteered by Ireland employees, over €1 million is being donated to community organisations across Ireland. The donation is made possible by the Intel Matching Grant programme which sees a grant of $10 paid by the Intel Foundation for every hour that an Intel employee volunteers at an approved organisation.

In 2024, Intel Ireland employees volunteered over 143,00 hours that were eligible to be matched through this initiative, resulting in a total payout of €1,436,292 for 307 organisations across the country.

The 307 organisations include charities such as Tiglin, No Name Club and St. John Ambulance Brigade, a variety of sporting clubs ranging from GAA to archery, and various other organisations such as animal sanctuaries, schools and scouting groups spread across 23 different counties.

Since the inception of the Matching Grant initiative, more than €14 million has been donated to charities, schools, sports clubs, social initiatives, and community schemes across Ireland.

Employees in Ireland make up just 5% of the overall Intel employee population, but the Irish volunteering efforts account for 20% of Intel’s global grant amount.

Director of Public Affairs at Intel Ireland, Sarah Sexton
, spoke proudly of the achievements: “We are immensely proud of the impact that our Matching Grant programme continues to make in communities across Ireland. The generosity and dedication of our employees in Ireland, whose volunteering efforts contribute a remarkably large portion to our global grant amount, exemplify the spirit of giving back that defines our company culture. As we celebrate another successful year of giving, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work, and look forward to continued collaboration and impact in the years to come.”

Paula, a representative of Leixlip United AFC shared her thoughts about the program: “Leixlip United Football Club is once again delighted to receive corporate sponsorship from Intel via its matching grants initiative. The match grant funds are an incredible benefit to our club and we are so grateful for the ongoing support from Intel particularly this year as we move into the next phase of developing our Club facilities.
