At Intel, we are committed to helping developers and data scientists unlock the full potential of AI. That is why we are excited to highlight three recent updates to the Intel Tiber AI Cloud. From new software versions for PyTorch and oneAPI and new notebooks in the Learning Catalog, to Terraform support across cloud services, these releases are designed to make it easier than ever to build, deploy, and manage AI workloads.

Keep up with new versions of PyTorch and oneAPI

If there is one constant in the AI software ecosystem, it is that new versions are always around the corner to unlock exciting new capabilities. Intel keeps up with these release cadences for you, helping you spend less time upgrading libraries and more time on learning and working.

The Intel Tiber AI Cloud’s Learning Catalog is a great entry point to the Intel Tiber AI Cloud, providing a free, hosted Jupyter notebook session for users to learn an array of topics across AI, heterogenous computing, and even quantum computing. Any user can launch a notebook and jump into learning, as common libraries and frameworks are pre-installed.

In January the PyTorch community launched version 2.6, the latest version of their popular open-source machine learning framework. This update brings a host of new features and improvements, including enhanced support for distributed training, improved performance on Intel GPUs, and new APIs for building custom models. The Learning Catalog had this update available on launch day, allowing you to immediately work with the benefits for Intel CPUs in real time. We look forward to continuing to invest in a great PyTorch experience with Intel Tiber AI Cloud. Check out the PyTorch on Intel® GPUs notebook to take this new version for a spin.

In March, a slate of new 2025.1 version of Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit, Intel® oneAPI HPC Toolkit, and Intel® AI Tools all launched. These new versions are each available within the Learning Catalog, where you can take advantage of their new capabilities today.

Use new notebooks for DeepSeek-R1 and OpenAI’s Whisper

Based on customer interest the Intel Tiber AI Cloud Learning Catalog is excited to expand our catalog of pre-configured notebooks with two exciting new additions: Running DeepSeek on Intel® GPUs and Automatic Speech Recognition with OpenAI’s Whisper.

The DeepSeek-R1 notebook brings the viral popularity of DeepSeek to the Learning Catalog. Choose from one of 3 distilled models to run queries against, all in an isolated, onshore hosting environment.

Quickly get started with OpenAI’s popular open-source Whisper speech recognition system with pre-installed dependencies and a fun translation example, making it easier than ever to get started with these powerful AI tools.

Streamline infrastructure management with Terraform support

Intel is excited to introduce a brand-new integration with Terraform, the popular infrastructure-as-code tool, specifically designed for use with the Tiber AI Cloud. With Terraform, developers can define and manage their cloud infrastructure using human-readable configuration files, making it easier to version, reuse, and share infrastructure configurations. This update enables developers to automate the provisioning and management of their Tiber AI Cloud resources, streamlining the development and deployment of AI workloads.

Use the new Terraform integration to easily automate the provisioning of an Intel® Gaudi® 2 AI Accelerator bare metal server, configure a cloud-init script to bootstrap your fleet of Intel® Data Center GPU Max Series virtual machines, or setup worker node groups for your CNCF conformant Intel® Kubernetes Service (IKS) cluster.

To get started, check out the open-source terraform-provider-intelcloud project on GitHub, including the directory of common use cases, and see the intelcloud provider on the Terraform Registry.
