How to get I350AM4 to work at PCIE X2 or X1 mode?

Hi there,

We designed an I350AM4 LAN module that works normally with a PCIe X4 host, but when we change the host to PCIe to x1 or x2, the system can not detect I350AM4.
We checked the datasheet that notes if maximum Link Width = x4, then the I350 negotiates to either x4, x2 or x1. So how to get I350AM4 to work at PCIe X2 or X1 mode? or it needs to modify EEPROM?
