The latest version of the I225 Ethernet Controller datasheet (596659), revision 2.6.5, has tightened the tolerances for the VDD_*** power supplies. These now need to be 0.95V +/-5%.
The VDD_CTRL pin continues to be available to provide a 0.95V rail with a worst case tolerance of 10%.
However, the latest version of the I225 reference schematic (576602), revision 2.7, shows that the I225 VDD_*** power inputs can be driven from the VDD_CTRL pin via an inductor and capacitors. Does the datasheet mismatch in tolerance specifications not matter?

Hello Ed11,
Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.
Can you confirm if you are designing/customizing your own board with the Intel® Ethernet Controller I225? If no, please share your configuration or how do you use the Intel® Ethernet Controller I225?
Awaiting to your reply.
We will follow up after 3 business days in case we don't hear from you.
Best regards,
Crisselle C.

Hi,
I am designing my own board and am using an I225 device. I have been following the guidance provided in Intel document 576602 to connect the VDD_CTRL pin to the VDD_*** power inputs. I would like to be sure that apparent tolerance mismatch in the recently updated I225 Ethernet Controller datasheet (596659), revision 2.6.5, does not invalidate this design strategy.
Thanks
Ed
