Need support for dual layout design (82599 and X710/XL710)

Hi,

I'm designing a customized NIC with BMC onboard based on X710-BM2. To be able to use ixgbe driver for legacy software, I intend to make this NIC a dual layout design for both 82599 and X710 (dual-port 10Gbps SFI).

In the latest datasheet of X710/XL710, it says in chapter 14.2:

...

See the Transitioning from the Intel® Ethernet Controller 82599 to X710/XL710: Dual Layout Design Considerations and Guidelines application note for information on creating an 82599 backwardcompatible design.

...

But how can I access this application note?

Thanks and best regards,

yervant

Hello, @3000020214321.5662957067848877E12

Thanks you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.

The Transitioning from the Intel(R) 82599 to XL710 (Fortville): Dual Layout Design Considerations & Guidelines document # 466571 is the one that may help you. This document should be accessible when you are logged into your Resource and Design Center (RDC) privileged account in the following website:

http://www.intel.com/cd/edesign/library/asmo-na/eng/466571.htm

In case that you need to update your RDC account or are experiencing problems with the previous site, you should fill out the form stated at the following website to receive the proper help:
