xl710-2.5g.pngthanks!

1.NO,used for pcie card;

2.The model is PCIE Add-in card and the system is linux.

When I changed the firmware to support only 8GT/s, its link capability only supported 2.5GT/s. I only changed the register GLPCI_LINKCAP. I cann't understand.

Hello JYu3,

Let me gather more information about the issue. Please provide the following details.

  1. Have you tried to install the X710 adapter on another system? Is the link capacity remains 2.5 GT/s?
  2. Please provide the brand and model of the system where the X710 was installed.
  3. Please take a photo of the card focusing on the markings on both sides of the card.

If you have questions, please let us know.

Thanks。I've tried it on other hosts, like intel CPU, and it links to 8GT/S。It links to 5GT only under PLX8748。But other boards can link to 8G under this 8748。

The main control is intel I7 6880EQ.It is the PCIE link speed problem between 710 and PLX8748.The 710 can only be linked to 5g at 8748.

Do you have any suggestions about 710 only link to 5G at 8748?

Hello JYu3,

There is a lot of possible causes and I need to further check everything before I provide a recommendations. The issue that we are facing is that since it is embedded in a system, the OEM or system manufacturer may have altered the specification of the NIC.

If you have questions, please let us know.

Thanks。It can trained to 8G by linking disable and enable at 8748 downstream, but it was unstable. And it is useless after retrain, it's still 5G.

Hello JYu3,

I understand. However for further assistance and troubleshooting, it is best if you can contact the manufacturer of the system or the board. They may have altered this NIC and those changes are unknown to us.

If you have questions, please let us know.
