Hello,
Table 164. Hardware Accelerated Video Decode Codec Support on page 411 of the Atom E3800 datasheet stated that the media decode rate upto 1080p@60 and 3x 4kx2k @30fps.
Can someone clarify/confirm how much it can actually do? Can it decode 4kx2k@60fps?
Thanks,
HD

Hi Hung Dinh
Welcome to the Intel® Embedded Community.
Please take in consideration that only the decode rates from table 164 are validated by Intel®. 4kx2k@60fps is not validated by Intel®.
Best Regards.
Josue.
Hi Josue,
Please confirm the statement in table 164 page 411 of the Atom datasheet is 1x 1080p60 + 3x 4k x 2k @30fps.
Is there a design limitation that it can't decode 4k @60fps, or is it just because of the display controller interfaces (eDP 1.3, HDMI 1.4a) that support only 4k @30fps, therefore Intel only characterized it up to 4k 30fps?
Thanks for your help,
HD
Hi Hung Dinh
The Intel® Atom™ 3845 has been designed to have an optimal performance under validated conditions (table 164. Hardware Accelerated Video Decode Codec Support), any other configuration should require testing and validation.
Best Regards.
Josue.
We have an updated version of Datasheet: http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/datasheets/atom-e3800-family-datasheet.p... Intel® Atom™ Processor E3800 Product Family. It is rev 3.6, January 2015. Table 164 is now located on page 408.
