We have tried the Kontron pITX-E38 board with Windows 7 embedded. However the serial port drivers does not work. Kontron claims that this is due to lack of support from Intel. Does anyone know if working serial port drivers exist? If not when will these be available?

Hello knutvg

Thank you for contacting the Intel Embedded Community.

We would like to help you, but you need to contact the manufacturer of your motherboard to receive the further help because they have all the information related to their products. Also, to receive the further drivers, because they have modified the devices where the video, audio, or other features are generated.

In order to help you, as a reference please address your problem to the following web sites:

http://www.kontron.com/products/boards-and-standard-form-factors/motherboards/pico-itx/pitx-e38.html pITX-E38 - Kontron

http://www.kontron.com/support-and-services/services/technical-support-services Technical Support Services

http://www.kontron.com/about-kontron/company-overview/contact-us/forms/contact-support Contact Support - Kontron

Intel can give you generic drivers, which are not guaranteed to work properly with your third party motherboard. In case that you need them please use the /www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu Intel® Driver Update Utility.

Please keep in mind that the proper drivers and support are provided by the manufacturer of your motherboard.

Best Regards,

Carlos_A.

Thank you for the reply Carlos_A.

We have already been in contact with Kontron and they claim that the problem is that Intel will not fix the faulty drivers supplied.

So there we are, no support from Kontron and no support from Intel.

Regards

Knut

Hello

Sorry for the delay.

-Please try using the following software: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24345/Intel-Driver-Update-Utility Download Intel Driver Update Utility on your platform (it requires internet connectivity to work), it should update all your drivers to the latest version.

If that doesn't work for your issue please test using a Windows 7 standard distribution, and let us know if the issue persist on that system.

I will be waiting for your feedback,

Best Regards,

Adolfo.
