I have a question about the RAID feature of the Desktop 400 Series chipset Q470/Q470E.
Please refer to page 32 of the "ww26 2020 Desktop 5Q Roadmap NDA Customer Version.pdf".
"Intel RST PCIe RAID 0,1,5" is "Yes" that means the "supported".
However, when I check your Intel's ARK site below, it shows "RAID Configuration 0,1,5,10(SATA)" and there is no mention of "PCIe".
>Q470
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/jp/ja/ark/products/201836/intel-q470-chipset.html
(Q470_ark.png)
In addition, in the following RST driver download site for the 10th generation platform, refer to "4.B SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS for INTEL(R) OPTANE(TM) MEMORY SYSTEM ACCELERATION" in the "README text file", you will find "QLC NVMe drives" in the Storage Devices section.
Q) Does the "Q470/Q470E" chipset support the PCIe interface RAID configurations?
If there is "support"/ "not support" depending on the conditions, please let us know the conditions.
Sorry for my poor English.
Best Regards,
Urabe

Hello, @HU02028:
Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.
We want to address the following questions to understand this situation:
Could you please clarify if this request is related to a design developed by you, or is a device developed by a third-party company?
Could you please let us know the name of the manufacturer, the part number, and where we can find the information if this request is related to a third-party design?
What is the processor related to the design associated with your request?
We are waiting for your answer.
Best regards,

Hello Carlos-san
Thank you for your cooperation.
We are trying to propose the following products made by Advantech to end user.
AIMB-587
https://www.advantech.com/en/products/1-2jkkgc/aimb-587/mod_574f010e-2d20-4fdd-bfb3-b8dee914ec3c
Processor is the Intel 10th Gen Xeon/Core (Comet Lake-S) i9/i7/i5/i3 processor.
Storage is SATA only in this product site.
I think that this is possibly a limitation by Advantech.
Because "Intel RST PCIe RAID 0,1,5" is "Yes" in roadmap document.
I would like to know whether the Intel 10th processor with Q470/A470E chipset supports the "Intel RST PCIe RAID 0,1,5".
Best Regards.,
Urabe

Hello Carlos-san,
I am sorry for late reply.
I couldn't sign-in to "My Intel", because there is the MFA problem.
It’s not that I would like to know about the products made by Advantech. It is just a trigger.
I asked first, what I would like to know is the chipset specification. Not the board's.
In summary, that is below.
In the roadmap document, chipset supports the "PCIe RAID" and "SATA RAID".
However, in Intel's ARK site, chipset supports "SATA RAID" only.
Could you please tell me which is correct?
Best Regards,
Urabe

Hello, @HU02028:
Thanks for your reply.
Please let me paraphrase my previous communication.
You are suggesting a third-party unit that may have Intel products that could be customized on some occasions, so the confirmation of any information of the cited third-party implementation should be supported by their manufacturer.
Due to this fact, please contact the manufacturer using the suggested channels stated in our previous communication.
Best regards,

Hello Carlos-san,
Thank you for your reply.
I mentioned below in my 03-10-2023 09:35 comment.

----------------------------------------
I don't need the specification for third-party's product.
If I need it, I will ask to support of third-party.
It is the simple question.
In relation to the description of the Intel's ARK site, I just want to know if (1) or (2) is correct.
(1) Q470/Q470E supports both SATA RAID and NVMe RAID.
(2) Q470/Q470E supports only SATA RAID.

Hello, @HU02028:
Thanks for your reply.
You should verify with the manufacturer of the cited third-party device that the information stated in sections 24.0 and 24.7, on pages 216 and 220 of the Intel® 400 Series Chipset Family Platform Controller Hub (PCH) Datasheet, Volume 1 of 2 is proper for their implementation. The cited document can be found inside the .zip stated on the following website:

Hello Carlos-san,
Thank you for your reply.
I understood that NVMe storage on the PCH side is managed by the SATA controller using the Remapping function.
I have no additional question.
I appreciate your correspondence.
Please close this topic.
