My question is specific to the Tiger Lake UP3 (i7-1186GRE), does the Tiger Lake UP3 (i7-1186GRE) have a general purpose DMA engine(s)? If not, is there another method within the device to support DMA to/from each PCIe interface? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, can documentation be provided? I checked the IBL website and didn’t find any references that were helpful.

Hello @CarlosAM_INTEL:
We have very similar question regarding the DMA engine on PCI interface on Tiger Lake UP3.
Could you please share the related information with me?
Thank you in advance!

Hello, @pribor:
Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Support.
We have received your request but we need to address the following questions to understand it:
Could you please clarify if this request is related to a design developed by you, or if it is developed by a third-party company?
Could you please let us know the name of the manufacturer, the part number, and where we can find the information if this request is related to a third-party design?
In case it is your design, could you please let us the place of purchase of the cited Intel processors and their part numbers?
We are waiting for your reply.
Best regards,

Hello Carlos,
I am also looking for a way to use CPU / PCH-based DMA to initiate transfers from System memory to PCIe device.
Would you please also share the information with me? I know that doing DMA from a PCIe device itself would be one of the recommended solution, but we really need to use "some DMA" at the CPU / PCH location. I have been through the documentation and there is a lot of DMAs in fact (SPI / UART / I2C/ Audio ... ) But most of them only support the direction to/from the peripheral.
Thank you,
Vojtech

Hello Carlos,
I don't understand why you cannot help me until I provide information about my project, does it matter? I wouldn't be asking if there was no need for an advise, I sincerely hope that this should be sufficient. I have been several times in contact with AMD and they never asked me to provide that kind of information. We are specifically going to use "Intel i7 Tigerlake 1186GRE SoC". As an engineer, I don't have access to purchase order history, so this is the only information I can share with you.
Thank you,
Vojtech

Hello Carlos,
Thanks for your feedback. However, as stated earlier, I am not looking for a way to to transfer data to/from UART interfaces. The document clearly says, that those DMA controllers (That are a part of the UART Interface) support only directions to/from the peripherals. There is no information on supporting generic transfers over PCIe, which is again what we need.
