eeupdate64e fails: Unable to initialize adapter 2 code c86a2002 [linux]

Hi All,

When we using the eeupdate64e tool, the command ./eeupdate /nic=2 /eepromver can read the information of the Intel network card, but it fails to display the EEPROM Image Version and returns an error: "unable to initialize adapter 2 code c86a0a00, Admin Queue initialization failed." When attempting to use a new version of the eeupdate tool, the error changed to c86a2002. We are using six X710 series network cards; one can be read successfully, while the other five cannot. We are not sure what the issue is. This is our designed project, but we do not know if it has been reviewed by Intel. Additionally, we do not have a privileged account; our manager had one before, but it has now expired.

Thanks,

Best wishes

Hello @VinceHuang,

Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.

I looked internally for this error:

-You may try with a LAN cable connected while running LAN tools,

-Update to the latest driver version:

Best regards,

Hi @Diego_INTEL ,

Thank you for your response and assistance.

Last week, we determined that this issue is related to the platform our customer is updating. Later, we used newer versions of the eeupdate tools (5.35.45.02 and 5.41.03.00) and didn't encounter the error again.

Additionally, I have a small question for you: how can I obtain the latest versions of the eeupdate and lanconf64e tools? Thank you!

Best regards,

@VinceHuang
