I bought an intel workstation system p4304cr2lfgn with the idea to install into there 16 gigabyte ram hyper beast kingston (16 khx16c9t34/32x) and

2 Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2680 v2 (25M Cache, 2.80 GHz).

I tried to install both processors with all 16 memory modules but didnt work.

I tried to solve the problem upgrading bios to cpu 2680 v2, i used a cpu 2603 and then upgraded bios!!

After some interations finally i just got installed one cpu 2680 v2 with only 8 memory modules (64 GB) with windows server 64 bits installed.

Because with the second cpu i allways receive error "dimm population error".

Can you send me a new Bios hot fixed to get all 16 memory modules and my second 2680 v2 cpu please.

Best regards

Hi Angelito,

First of all, I'd like to confirm a few information.

a. Is your workstation system p4304cr2lfgn? (I can only find http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-033391.htm p4304cr2lfjn & p4304cr2lfkn)

b. The module of your board is W2600CR or W2600CR2 ?

c. What is your BIOS version? (The latest BIOS https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23205&lang=eng Download )

d. What is the model of your memory module? The following module of memory are we supported for Kinston.

And could you please do some test for me?

a. You said you installed one cpu 2680 v2 with only 8 memory modules (64 GB) with windows server 64 bits installed. Have you tried to install another CPU instead of it? (If it does not work, then there is some problem with this CPU, you could contact our warranty support to help you.)

b. And please try to install this cpu 2680 v2 with only 8 memory modules in another socket.

c. Have you tried to install both processors with only two memory module?(http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-033340.htm Quick Install Guide)

Please let me know the test result, thank you.

You can also contact your local Intel support number. (http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/contactsupport Contact Support)

Have a good luck.

William
