Hello, @DDomi9:
Thanks for your clarification.
We suggest you review the information stated in the Performance Results section, on pages 76, 77, 78, and 79 of the Intel(R) Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) New Instructions Set White Paper document # 323641; also in section Performance Results, on pages 5, 6, and 7 of the Breakthrough AES Performance with Intel AES New Instructions White Paper that may answer your question. They can be found at the following websites:
https://www.intel.com/content/dam/doc/white-paper/advanced-encryption-standard-new-instructions-set-paper.pdf
https://software.intel.com/sites/default/files/m/d/4/1/d/8/10TB24_Breakthrough_AES_Performance_with_Intel_AES_New_Instructions.final.secure.pdf
It is important to let you know that the AES instructions provide important security benefits. Since the instructions run in data-independent time and do not use lookup tables, they help in eliminating the major timing and cache-based attacks that threaten table-based software implementations of AES. In addition, these instructions make AES simple to implement, with reduced code size, this helps reducing the risk of inadvertent introduction of security flaws, such as difficult-to detect side channel leaks. You can find more information and details about the benefits of using AES-NI in the Intel(R) Advanced Encryption Standard Instructions (AES-NI) that can be found at:
