Hello, i updated my Windows and after PC restart i lost internet connection, the adapter stop giving the typical orange and green lights in the RJ45 connector. Then i went to the PROSet Adapter Configuration Utility and reset every configuration on it, after that it start working but only 1GB/s and the is only orange light in the RJ45 connection, i did the connection test in the utility program and it says that the "Speed of link is 1000Mbps, The interlocutor does not have the capacity for high speeds". If i try configure manually the speed and duplex to 10Gbps and adapter stop working and the both light are off if i change it to automatic negotiation it works but only at1Gbps. It was working at 10Gbps before, i have cat8 Ethernet cable. I already uninstalled drivers and installed them 2 times didnt helped me.

So i dicided to reinstall Windows from 0, and it didnt solved my problem, first of all i couldnt update with the Intel Driver and Support Assistant because it didnt recognise the adapter, then i found https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18293/intel-network-adapter-driver-for-windows-10.html drivers for it and installed then pc start recognise it, after that it still didnt work at 10Gbs so i updated with Intel Driver and Support Assistant and it gives me like failed result but my PC recognise as 30.0.0.0 Version wich i think its the latest so its up to date, maybe that version has bugs? Please help me, ty.

Hello AndriyRR,
Greetings!
Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum and thank you for the details and the screenshots.
Based on your inquiry, we understand that you are only getting a speed of 1gb on your x540 ethernet controller.
Please provide the below details so that we can check this further.
1) Kindly provide the system details ( motherboard details ) in which this ethernet controller is present
2) With which driver version were you previously getting the 10Gb speed? Have you tried reinstalling that driver?

Hello AndriyRR,
Thank you for the details.
We request you to kindly verify if its an onboard built-in ethernet controller or is it an ethernet adapter which is manually added to the PCIe slot?
If its a built-in controller, kindly contact the board manufacturer for the ethernet drivers as our ethernet drivers are only for retail ethernet adapters and it will not be compatible with on-board controllers.
As for onboard controllers, the manufacturer would customize the controller according to their needs, so we would request you to check with the OEM to get the drivers from their end.

Hello AndriyRR,
Greetings !!
Ideally when on Auto-negotiation, It should pick automatically the highest speed. Since the issue is after the update, it could be possible that something has changed either with the update or only at a driver level. Just wanted to check, in same option where you set the Auto Negotiation, do you see 10 Gbps Full Duplex option listed? If yes, can you try setting it manually?
