8086-1583 Nvm 4.53 upgrade fails

We successfully got 8086-1583 working with i40e 1.3.38 and 4.42 nvm.

Later we managed to upgrade from to i40e 1.3.39.1 and 4.53 nvm.

During nvm upgrade we've got following exception with the success message at the end.

Now we are not able to bring link up with old drivers and nvm neither new ones.

If nvm downgrade passes silently upgrade throws this exception every time.

Upgrade under Windows fails too with BSOD and 0x80 NMI_HARDWARE_FAILUR

Hi AlexanderKlimenko,

Just to double check if you are using an onboard NIC or standalone network adapter?

Can you provide the 6-3 digits (PBA number) on the network adapter if it is standalone NIC. You may refer to this website on wehre to locate the information.

http://www.intel.com/support/network/adapter/pro100/sb/CS-031543.htm Intel® Server Adapters — How to Identify the Intel® Network Adapter Model Using the Serial Number?

Thanks,

Hi AlexanderKlimenko,

Thank you for the info. Further checking for OEM network adapter, it is recommended you contact the OEM vendor to obtain the NVMupdate driver. Hope this clarifies.

Hello, we managed to fix problem ourself.

Just for the information:

1. Problem with burning nvm gone way only after the full power circle (disconnecting the power cord). It is strange but switching off through ilo didn't help.

2. Link unavailability was the problem of the router port hang.

Thanks for your help and sorry for the waisted time.
