82567LM Gigabit; Can it be manually set, or does it even support FULL-DUPLEX at 1000Mbps?

I can only set to Full-Duplex only up to 100Mbps...but can this NIC be set to FULL-DUPLEX somehow on the gig/1000Mbps speed?... or are we stuck with "Auto-negotiate 1000Mbps?".

Thank you for using Intel Ethernet. Yes, the 82567LM supports 1000Mbps Ethernet at full duplex. When you select "auto-negotiate" the following speeds and duplex combinations can be negotiated: 1000Mbps-full-duplex, 100Mbps-full-duplex, 100Mbps-half-duplex, 10Mbps-full-duplex, or 10Mbps-half-duplex. You can note that there is no such 1000Mbps-half-duplex selection available since gigabit Ethernet switches do not support such a combination. I am curious what you feel "stuck" with as it sounds like auto-negotiation is what you would like.

Due to testing requirements the duplexing cannot be set to autonegotiate. We have a requirement that this be manually or static set to "full-duplex". Auto-negotiate does not assure us that the connection is actually using 1000Mbps Full-duplex, and we are currently experiencing duplexing symptoms/issues with these controllers plugged into a manually set 1000Mbps, Full duplex, Cisco, GigabitEthernet port on a 6513.

Not sure if you can describe more of the duplex issues you are seeing in your test environment. If you are running Windows, you modify the "Link Speed & Duplex" value manually to "1.0 Gbps Full Duplex" to get what you are after. This mode will only populate the 1G full duplex auto-negotiation value and fail to auto-negotiate to any other speed and duplex settings. If you are running Linux, you can use ethtool to set the speed and duplex. Hope this solves the issue you are seeing, and thank you for using Intel Ethernet.
