82579V Gigabit Ethernet Driver

Hello,

I am trying to install 82579V Gigabit Ethernet driver on Windows 10.

I downloaded 25.2 driver pack, but when I try to install, it says "cannot install drivers no intel adapters are present in this computer".

Device Manager shows same model.

I want Intel Advanced Network Services (Intel ANS) for VLANs on Windows 10.

But I am not able to do this.

Please help.

Thanks

Hello Sanket,

Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.

After checking, Intel® 82579V Gigabit Ethernet PHY has only in-box support for Windows 10 Operating System. Unfortunately, driver and software updates aren't planned for adapters with only in-box support. These adapters can't be updated using automated or manual methods.

Please visit this link for the list of Supported Operating Systems for Intel® Ethernet Controllers (LOM). Scroll down to In-box support for more information.

We would also appreciate if you can share the model of your motherboard for our record purposes.

Let us know if you have additional questions and clarifications on this matter.

Hoping to hear from you soon.

We will follow up after 3 business days in case we don't receive a reply.

Hi Crisselle

Thanks for your reply.

What options are available with me to install add-on NIC which support requirement of creating Virtual VLAN adapter (Intel Advanced Network Services (Intel ANS) ).

Can I buy any add-on USB NIC or PCI NIC? Any suggestions?

Looking your help.

Motherboard Model: ASUS P8P67 DELUXE

Thanks

Hello Sanket,

Appreciate your swift response.

If you are looking for 1 GbE adapter, you may go for I210 or I350 series. Please visit this link and scroll down to Windows* support for 1 GbE Intel® Ethernet Network Adapters. As you will notice, these adapters have full support on Windows 10 Operating System. You may also consider clicking on each adapter to check the specifications.

We would also suggest checking with Asus support if the adapter is compatible with your motherboard to avoid any incompatibility in the future.

Let us know if you have additional questions and clarifications.

Hoping to hear from you soon.

Hello Sanket,

Thank you for the reply.

Based on the Product Brief of Intel® PRO/1000 PT Dual Port Server Adapter (link below), I can confirm that the adapter supports teaming.

https://www.intel.com/content/dam/doc/product-brief/1000-pt-dual-port-server-adapter-brief.pdf

However, checking on the download link for this adapter, I was not able to find any driver for Windows 10 Operating System. I regret to say that you still won't be able to set up Teaming since there is no driver to use.

You may also consider using Windows 7 or 8 on your 82579V as it has full support on this Operating Sytems and check if you can successfully configure Teaming on your system.

Let us know if you have additional questions and clarifications.

Awaiting to hear from you.

Thanks for you reply.

Last Question:

Is there any Adapter which has dual Port?

You suggested to go with I210 or I350 series, but those are One port.

Suggest me any model which has Two Ports with Windows 10 support, and with Teaming ( Virtual VLAN adapter -Intel Advanced Network Services (Intel ANS))

Thanks for your help.
