Hello @Robertst,

Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused in regards Intel® Ethernet Controller I226-V.

May I know the mentioned bug is related to network latency which doesn't occurred to Intel wifi?

Kindly provide the following information for us to check on your issue:

System Support Utility(SSU) log of your system. This will allow us to check your Adapter details and configuration. This would also help us identify if you are using an OEM or retail version of Intel Ethernet Adapter. Kindly refer to the steps below.

a- Go to https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-?product=91600 and download the software.

b- Open SSU.exe

c- Mark the box "Everything" and then click "Scan".

d- When finished scanning, click "Next".

e- Click on "Save" and attach the file to a post.

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,

Hello

The bug is not network latency but frequently lost network connection and the negotiation at 100 Mbps

No problem using Wifi, SSU file attached

I'm really unhappy given the price of this motherboard

This problem has been known for years and Intel is doing nothing to fix it, it's really sad

Hello @Robertst,

Thank you for your patience.

We wish to know when did the issue started? Was there any changes within the OS before the issue starts?

Intel engineering team has also release new NVM to OEM for this issue, still awaiting full implementation from OEM.

Upon checking the log, please follow suggested steps for temporary workaround:

1. Go to device manager

2. Check under Intel(R) Ethernet Controller I226-V.

3. Right click and select properties - select Advanced tab and Disable the following settings:

a. ReduceSpeedOnPowerDown:Reduce Speed On Power Down

b. EEELinkAdvertisement / Energy Efficient Ethernet

4. Please also check on the network switch / router if has energy efficiency ethernet settings, can it be switched "off" and monitor if the issue persists? Also ensure the same settings: SpeedDuplex:Speed & Duplex:"2.5 Gbps Full Duplex applies to router.

5. Find Internet Protocol v6 (TCP/IPv6) from the list under Networking tab, and disable it.

Else if above steps does not work, please try below steps:

1. Clean Driver Installation Guide for Intel® Ethernet Connections

2. Intel® Ethernet Adapter Complete Driver Pack,  through the device manager instead of using exe file and browse to update the driver from Intel Complete Driver Pack -> PRO2500 -> Winx64 and choose NDIS68 (for Win10, Win11, WS22)

Please let us know the outcome after you have tried it and will be happy to assist if any other troubleshooting required for this issue.

Hello @Robertst,

Thank you for your patience.

Intel is pleased to inform that we have identified and resolved the issue. To ensure optimal performance, we recommend all affected users work with motherboard vendors to update NVM version to 2.22 and Windows 11 driver to 2.1.3.15 or Windows 10 driver to 1.1.4.42. These updates have undergone extensive testing and have demonstrated stability. However, Intel is unable to predict when Windows or OEM will release the latest update on NVM upgrade.

After applying these updates, it is safe to manually enable "Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE)" mode in the Windows driver.

If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback regarding these updates, please contact us.

I lose network connection when windows updates. Especially security updates.. I am not using any antivirus software. It happens in both windows 10 and 11 with the 1226 Ethernet on an asia mother board. I have the latest drivers.
