Hello Intel Community,
I'm interested in sending and receiving data at rates between 100-200 Gbps, so naturally I want to use the 800 Series adapters. However, I was wondering which Intel Xeon processor would pair best with this data throughput demand. For more context, I want to send UDP packets from one machine to another operating in a windows environment (please DO NOT suggest Linux as the OS is a requirement constraint I cannot change). Unfortunately advanced features like RDMA are off the table and the only thing I can do is rely of Receive Side Scaling. Currently I'm running tests with Intel Xeon Gold processors (Gold 6246) and they can reliably send up to 150 Gbps and receive at best (very unreliably) 85 Gbps. Currently I'm using all available cores to receive that amount of data, but I do not have enough horsepower left to do anything with it (hence more cores will be needed).
I'm not sure however if this is the best family of Xeon processors for the task, and reading the descriptions, there seem to be multiple families that are designed for "Networking and Storage" but don't seem to indicate which would perform the best under the scenario that I'm describing. Please help me find which Xeon processor family might be best suited for this challenge.
Thank you.
