Can X520-DA1 using 10Gbase-SR/LR transceiver?

I install X520-DA1 in two Windows 7 PCs, with 10Gbase-SR transceiver and an OM3 multi-mode fiber connected together.

I use iperf to test the speed, no matter how I tuned it, it can only run about 1.3 Gbps, I know it's for direct-attach cable, but wonder if this card not support using fiber connected?

Hi Wowhsieh,

X520-DA1 supports validated SR/LR transceiver from Intel. Please ensure you are using the validated fiber transceiver as stated on our website below:

There are three types of X520, X520-DA,X520-SR,X520-LR, are these three type 10G cards all support intel 10GBase-DA,SR,LR transceivers, or are different each other and can not mix?

HI Wowhiseh,

Yes, you can use the fiber modules on the three different types of X520 server adapter as long as the fiber modules are the validated module of Intel. Please visit the URL below for the list of supported fiber module for X520 series network adapter:

Refers to Question 1, 2 and 3 which will clarify your concern.

Hope this help.

Thanks,
