Hello,
I have an Intel Network Adapter E810-C-Q2 with serial number 6cfe54ffff5a0518 .
The NIC is connected to a server running Linux kernel 5.4.0.
I'd like to update the NVM firmware to v4.20.
However, when I run ./nvmupdate64e, I get an "Access error" code for my NIC.
Here is what the log says:
Warning: Cannot initialize port: [00:059:00:00] Intel(R) Ethernet Network Adapter E810-C-Q2
Warning: Cannot initialize port: [00:059:00:01] Intel(R) Ethernet Network Adapter E810-C-Q2
I recently updated the FW to v4.10, and it worked smoothly. Can you please help me?
Kind regards

Greeting Marcof1,
Thank you for reaching us thru Intel Ethernet Community.
For us to further check the issue, Appreciated can you share the link of the NVM update file that you are using?
Besides that you can check the Driver pack as per below link:

Hi,
I'm using this link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19626/non-volatile-memory-nvm-update-utility-for-intel-ethernet-network-adapters-e810-series-linux.html
I also checked the Driver pack as you suggested, it also uses v4.20 and I'm getting the same "Access error" message.
Is there any way I can get a more verbose output to better understand what is going on?
Thank you,
Marco
