Can't find a driver that's compatible with Windows 8.1

Hi.

I've recently purchased an Intel Pro/1000 GT desktop adapter, so I don't have to use my old USB network adapter. I've searched through the download center for a driver, searched after a solved issue both here at the support community and Google, without any luck.

But at Microsoft's web pages, it says that this desktop adapter is compatible with both Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, according to their vote system. But that page doesn't provide any link to a driver either. Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

My OS is Windows 8.1, on a desktop computer.

Thank you for the answer. But I still can't get the desktop adapter to work, I've tried downloading the driver and running the .exe files from the link you provided, but without any luck. I know the hardware is installed correctly, since I can find it in the device manager at the Windows control panel. I even tried to update the driver from the device manager, but it says that the newest driver is already installed.

I've read that table already, but I couldn't understand what it meant by "in-box support". Is the adapter supposed to come with a CD that contained a driver? Because all I received when I bought this network adapter was the adapter itself, no instruction booklet and no CDs.

My problem with the network adapter is that it doesn't work, and I know that it's inserted correctly in it's PCI slot, because it appears along with my USB network adapter at the device manager. If you could provide a little bit more step-by-step explanation for what I'm supposed to do with the exe. files that driver above contains, I think it would helped me out a lot.

Hi eilanda, in-box supports refers to windows 8.1 comes with the driver for your network adapter, when you install the adapter to your system and boots up to windows 8.1, your operating system will recognize the adapter and install the necessary driver.

can you share more information on your problem - it doesn't work, does it mean you were able to connect to your network but no connection?

What I mean is that when I only got the Intel network adapter physically connected to the PC, I don't receive any network signals at all, and therefore I can't find my home network in the list.
