Have a voicemail system that went down and the Serial is suppose to match up with the onboard NIC. The board blew up. Moved the Linux VM hard drive to another machine and booted up. Need to change the MAC to match the MAC on the old machine. I have a Pro1000MT installed. Tried change using the ifconfig but will not work. Is there any software that will allow me to change the MAC?

Dear ATXTechGuy,
Thank you for contacting Intel. I apologize for the delay.
In Linux OS, you can configure the settings using Linux commands only. We do not have a software that allows users to change the MAC Address.
Upon checking, I came upon this website about http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Changing_Your_MAC_Address/Linux Changing Your MAC Address/Linux - Wikibooks, open books for an open world.
I hope this is helpful.
Sincerely,
Sandy
