Disconnects with I219-LM

Hi!

We are experiencing persistent connection issues with Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I219-LM on Windows 11 systems (occasionally on Wndows 10). Despite troubleshooting various settings, the problem persists. However, using an alternative NIC, such as a USB network adapter, resolves the issue.

This issue is occurring on several different computers (e.g. HP and Dell), which maybe suggests it might be a broader compatibility or driver issue?

Could you please provide suggestion on how to resolve this problem?
We have already ensured that the drivers are up to date, but the issue still remains.

Best Regards
Magnus R

Ps. I have read the thread
https://community.intel.com/t5/Ethernet-Products/Intel-I219-LM-Random-Disconnects/m-p/1324796#M27118

I am not aware that webroot is installed and pretty much  tested all suggestions provided.

Hi MagnusR,

Thank you for contacting Intel.

We appreciate you reaching out to us regarding the reported issue. To assist you more effectively and provide an accurate solution, we kindly request the following details:

1- What system model are you currently using?

2- Is the I219-LM built-in with a motherboard?

3- What troubleshooting has been done?

4- Have any changes been made prior to the issue happening?

Looking forward to your response.

Hi!

I think we can postpone this since we maybe found a solution.
After setting some properties on of the computers it has been running for a while now

E.g.
Interupt moderation -> Disabled
Interup Moderation Rate -> Off
Large Send Offload (IP4) -> Disabled
Large Send Offload (IP6) -> Disabled

Which setting or combination fixed it I don't know.

Thank you for now

MagnusR,

I've been having the same issue on a brand new PC. Disabling those 4 items seems to have fixed the issue for me, also. Thanks!

Intel,

Why does having those settings turned on cause my NIC to lock up. Once this happens, I can't resolve the issue without rebooting the PC. And even rebooting hangs until I either unplug it, hold the power button for 10 seconds, or wait until it finally blue screens on me. There must be something wrong with your drivers, yes?

I think I've finally narrowed it down to the Large Send Offload being the cause of the issue. I'm back to having all other settings at the default value, and so far, it has been working for 24 hours straight.

Intel,

Don't you have any input on this matter? At the very least, you shouldn't be pushing this driver out the door with Large Send Offload enabled if it can cause the NIC to fail to pass packets. I've read about many others having issues with this NIC. Maybe this setting is the cause for them, too.

It's not been almost a month, and once I disabled the Large Send Offload V2 (IPv4) and the Large Send Offload V2 (IPv6) settings, I have not had another issue.
