Hello. I have a E810-XXVDA2 in my server and the OS is Debian 12.5. As below.

So i connect to Huawei Switch.
trun off the FEC on Huawei. it still can not link up.
But i set FEC to RS. E810-XXVDA2 Light up! So i knew the E810-XXVDA2s setting is no effect!!

Upon checking your issue, we would recommend you to update the NVM firmware to the latest version. You may refer below:
Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) Update Utility for Intel® Ethernet Network Adapters E810 Series—Linux*:
However, since you are currently using Debian 12.5, please be inform that this Intel Ethernet Network Adapter E810-XXVDA2 is supported only up to Debian 11 version for now. For your reference, kindly refer below:

Now,
When The FEC at Auto it could auto between RS and BaseR, And I can set as off/ RS/ BaseR now by ethtool --set-fec enp135s0f0 off
