Hi,
Was GRO/LRO and IPsec offload removed for the 800 series ethernet controller?
If it was, any idea why?
I looked at the Intel network drivers in the Linux kernel and noticed that the other Intel drivers such as ixgbe have support for ipsec offload in the driver, but not the ice driver used for the e810.
I also don't see those options in the device settings on Windows.
Thanks

Hello @George72,
Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.
Hardware support for these protocols: GRO/LSO and IPsec offload were discontinued years ago. Unfortunately, we sincerely apologize because are unaware of the details or motivation.
The ixgbe drivers still have the reference because the e810 still supported by them.
Hope this clarifies your concern.
Thank you.
Best regards,

I was just curious why those features were removed. If there were problems with those features, I could at least disable them on my older network cards.
Thanks

Hello @George72,
We understood your concern and where you were coming from.
In such situation, there was no define reason. Intel does not develop, store, or provide drivers that give support with optimum settings on those protocal: GRO/LSO and IPsec offload.
May I know if there is anything else I can help with?
