Hi,
In our design we are using external I226 (KTI226ITSRKTX) an ethernet controller, for this we are providing PCIe Reference Clock 100MHz of type HCSL.
Question is can I connect directly HCSL clock to I226, if the I226 is expecting different type such as LVDS,LVPECL etc.. then we may need to convert to the type that I226 is expecting.
Thanks and Regards

Hello AdarshKHegde,
Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.
Based on your inquiry, we understand that you wish to know if you can connect the HCSL clock directly to the I226 controller or if it needs to be converted.
We are checking this from our end. In the mean time, could you provide us the motherboard details ( model) in which this ethernet controller is connected?
Regards,
Sachin KS

Hi Sachin,
This is a custom board where we have a PCIe switch which is supplying us the 100MHz reference clock.
Thanks and Regards

Hi AdarshKHegde,
Thank you for your response.
Just wondering if you managed to review the I226 datasheet below link:
Please note that the document is not publicly available. You can get the datasheets from the Intel RDC site below but the document will require CNDA:

For further details, you can refer to the below link on how to register as a Developer Zone Premier account:
Looking forward to your response.

Hi Fikri,
I have the datasheet (Intel Ethernet Controller I225/ I226
Datasheet), I might have missed to find the info. If you could share me the page number or any details to find the clock type in datasheet would be helpful.
Thanks and Regards

Hello AdarshKHegde,
Good day!
As this is related to a custom board and design, we request you to create an IPS case for this issue.
You can know about creating an IPS ( Intel premier support) account and an IPS case in the below link.
