Get information about SFP module (vendor,model) in Intel LAN NIC

Hello

Please, I want to ask if is there a way from windows server to get informations about installed SFP/SFP+ module in LAN NIC card (for example Intel(R) 82599 10 Gigabit).

We have few servers on remote site, and in case of troubleshooting without personal access would be nice have this option.

Thank you for waiting for our update.

 

Upon further checking, we don't have Windows tool that retrieves SFP information from the NIC. If you are using Linux, you may try the eththool -m command.

Hi Mike, sorry for the late reply. I've been tracking your responses from the beginning, but there were some problems signing in to my account. Now it's okay, and I can respond. ..... Thank you again for your answers and time. I know about Linux tools. Unfortunately we are 98% MS environment. It is really a pity that there is no tool for Windows that knows that. I took dozens of servers under management without documentation and it would be good to know remotely whether I have a transciever in and what type. Completely amazing would be to extend the powershell module for this ability.

Regarding the issue, I am really sorry. I tried checking possible ways and even seek assistance from our networking engineering team. As of the moment, there is no tool for that. However, they are already aware of this inquiry and they may consider to develop such tool soon.
