How can I improve performance with Intel 82576 and Windows 2008

A few days ago I installed Windows Server 2008 R2 on a new Supermicro server with dual XEON processors and 12 GB's of memory. The motherboard has two Intel 82576 dual port gb NIC's. But the throughput between this new computer and other computers on the network is very slow. Files transfer at about 3 mbps rather than the 55 mbps that other computers on the same switch and router are getting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure MSI-X is enabled in the BIOS(which hopefully is fully updated), then use this article to turn on RSS:

Also look to make sure your linking at the right speed, not get a ton of collisions, retransmissions, drop packets, or other TCP type errors.

If that doesn't help out, look for my blog on performance next week. And if that doesn't help let me know

I appreciate you using Intel(R) Networking and I hope we can get the performance up for you.

thanks
