Hi Piotrf,
Thank you for posting in Wired Ethernet Communities. Can you help confirm if the PRO 1000 MT (with the W1392) mentioned here is an DELL OEM NIC? You may refer to the link below on how to check on the vendor and device ID https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005612/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products.html.
We would like to identify correctly the NIC model in order to better check on this.
Regards,
Sharon T

Hi Piotrf,
Thank you for the detail information. The vendor and device ID shows this is an PRO 1000 MT server adapter. However based on the picture, this NIC is not a retail version of Intel PRO 1000 MT adapter,as you can see the format of our serial number goes like the one shown in the link below:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/xa/en/support/articles/000007022/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products.html
Further, the C48544-001 is not a PBA number for Intel parts, you may refer to the link below to check on the PBA for Intel PRO 1000 MT server adapter
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005612/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products.html. The list of PBA are
A92165-xxx
C31527-xxx
C36840-xxx
Does this NIC comes with any server? For OEM NIC, you may contact the OEM NIC vendor to obtain the bootagent that is customized for the OEM NIC to ensure compatibility.

Hi Sharon T,
thanks for explanation.
I lost two weeks to find out that Intel Pro 1000 MT does not provide Intel.
I bought NUC on the Internet. How can I explain to the seller that this is not a card from Intel? Why does the provider use the Intel name and mislead me? Does Intel allow such practices? (I'm sorry, I'm nervous.)
Where can I get BootUtil for "not from Intel PRO 1000 MT"? Does anyone know?

Hi Piotrf,
Thank you for the reply. You can refer your seller the link below for the list of Intel retail network adapter with the corresponding
PBA number: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005612/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products.html https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005612/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products.html, explain to him the PBA number shown on the NIC you have does not have the Intel PBA number.
We have OEM network adapter in the market but you have to check if the OEM NIC is the valid one. If your unit is an valid OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) network card, what you can do is to contact the NIC OEM vendor to avail of the bootutil. Searching on the web using w1392, it seems this is an OEM unit from Dell*. Can you confirm with your seller if this is an Dell OEM unit or you may also try contacting Dell* support. If this is a Dell* unit, the OEM NIC vendor can better assist you with the boot image which they might have the customized version.
As an additional information, the retail Intel PRO /1000 MT adapter has been discontinued, please refer to the link below https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000026530/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products.html List of Discontinued Retail Intel® Ethernet Adapters
If you are interested to purchase other Intel retail network adapter, we recommend you to purchase from our Intel authorized reseller which you can find at this website at http://locate.intel.com http://locate.intel.com. Feel free to update me if you need clarification.

Hi Piotrf,
Please feel free to update me if you have contacted Dell* to confirm this NIC model. The OEM NIC vendor supply customized firmware and tool for the OEM NIC, as there might be modification done on the NIC to adapt to their design, thus it is recommended to contact them for further support. Thanks.
