How does "WOL" work on Intel X550-T2? How can I connect AUX power in it?

I'd like to activate wol (wake on lan) on X550-T2.

According to https://downloadmirror.intel.com/22283/eng/readme.txt,

which says "These devices only support WoL if AUX power is supplied via this connector. " , I need to connect AUX power to X550-T2.

But I'm not sure what type of cable I should use for AUX power supply and not sure how I could purchase it .

Could you give any advice?

Best regards,

Koji

Hello Koji,

We appreciate your patience on this matter.

The Aux power is intended to be supplied over the PCIe Out of Band Interface and not externally supplied to the card. The power is supplied by the system if it supports 3.3Vaux. The physical connections to this power rail are not installed on the board and therefore would not support WoL.

We will update the readme to reflect this information. We apologized for any inconvenience.

Let us know if you have additional questions and clarifications on this matter.

Hello Koji,

Thank you for the patience on this matter.

As mentioned on the link provided, "Note that this is system and adapter specific. Some with this connector do not support WoL. Some systems do not provide the correct power connection. See your system documentation for details."

With this, we'd like to double check if you have contacted your system vendor to check if the system comes with aux power connector and supports WoL.

Looking forward to your response.

Hello Crisselle,

Thank you for your reply,

They replied to me that they did not find the AUX power supply connector on the intel X550-TS network interface board.

Could you tell me which part of the X550-T2 is the AUX power supply connector you are talking now

and the detail specification regarding voltage or physical interface ?

Best regards,

Hello Koji,

You are welcome.

Kindly share the PBA number of the adapter for us to identify if you are using retail or OEM version. If this is an OEM version, you may need to contact the vendor to double check the AUX power connector.

You may refer to this link on where to check the PBA of the adapter.

We will wait for your reply.

Hello Crisselle,

Thank you for your reply and I'm sorry for late response.

I understood that the network interface card does not support wol.

So I'll find another way for my system to support wol .

It's clear. I don't have further questions on this matter.
