I210-T1 / I350-T2 power consumption?

Hi,

i want to know the power consumption of the I210-T1 and I350-T2 adapters cause I'm not sure

if it's right what the datasheed says.

Intel writes 0.81 Watt for the "Intel Ethernet Server Adapter I210-T1" but the "Intel Ethernet Server Adapter I350-T2" needs 4.40 Watt?

And then there is from HP the "E0X95AA Intel Ethernet I210-T1 GbE" where HP writes 3.00 Watt.

I believe the Intel and HP cards are nearly the same, so why that big difference.

Also i can use 5 "Intel Ethernet Server Adapter I210-T1" and still have lower power consumption then with 1 I350-T2?

Hi Vince,

thanks for the feedback.

I thought there will never be an answer. But with todays electricity pricing here in Germany it makes a difference on a 24/7 machine.

The question was more if a i350-T2 really needs 4.40 Watt.

If so that means i can use 5 i210-T1 and the power consumption is less then with just one i350-T2?

5 Ethernet connections = 4 Watt

2 Ethernet connections = 4.4 Watt

Thanks wb_Intel,

thats what I'm talking about. I really wonder about the high power consumption of the i350-T2.

Especially now that you confirmed that the i210 really needs just 0.81 Watts.

Hi Mr. Glasspoole,

Yes. The i210T uses less power as compared to i350-T2.

Hello,

Is I210-T1 and I210 are same?

Shall we use the same UEFI driver for both I210-T1 and I210

Thanks,

Ram

Hi RamachandraB,

I210-T1 is the gigabit server adapter (which is the NIC you can install and remove from the system), you may refer to

ARK | Intel® Ethernet Server Adapter I210-T1

While I210 refers to the ethernet controller which refers to onboard NIC. http://ark.intel.com/products/family/2469/Intel-Gigabit-Ethernet-Network-Connection Intel® Gigabit Ethernet Network Connection

They are using the same driver
