I225: disable 1G/2.5G operation

Is it possible to completely disable the 1G/2.5G operation (speed) on an I225 Ethernet controller, in functional (not low power) state?

So that only 100M speed operation is advertised.

We know this is possible by using ethtool unter Linux. But can this also be set on firmware level e.g. by setting some registers in NVM?
