[I350-T4] Is it allowed us to use pps through SDP?

Hi,

I have been using a system with Jetson Xavier AGX (developer kit board with ubuntu 20.04) and a NIC based on the Intel I350-T4 chipset. I would like to receive the reference schematic of the chipset, enable and capture pps (pulse per second) of the NIC, and test performance of the NIC for the IEEE 1588 synchronization.

Could you please provide information about the below?

- requirement for obtaining the schematic,

- support of a device driver of the Ubuntu 20.04 for the Jetson Xavier AGX for enabling pps of the NIC,

- and accessible physical pin(s) or pinmap to capture the pps (NIC product name: aswinipc LX4-350 based on the Intel I350-T4).

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards,

Hello ymha,

Thank you for understanding. You can browse from the list of our Ethernet cards below:

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark.html#@EthernetProducts

However, it is also best to check the list of validated/compatible Ethernet cards for your system to avoid compatibility issues.

To check for the authenticity of the Ethernet card, please check the links below:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000007060/ethernet-products.html

and

Lastly, you can use this link to look for an Intel Authorize reseller in your area. If you have availability and price inquiry, please try to contact one of our Reseller's.

Hello ymha,

Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.

For us to further check the issue, please provide the following details.

  1. Can you provide the photos of the network card that you are using on both sides for us to check?
  2. Can you tell us why do you need this information?

Dear Michael L.,

Thank you for the reply.

1. The attached figures include the front and back sides of the board, respectively.

2. I am in need of the information for an academic research to improve the IEEE 1588 PTP version 2.x.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Hello ymha,

Thank you for sending the photos of the NIC. Upon checking, this NIC is not a retail Intel unit. This is a possible OEM unit and I am sorry to infirm you that we have limited support for OEM unit. Please contact your reseller or the OEM manufacturer for further assistance.

If you have questions, please let us know. In case we do not hear from you, we will make a follow up after 3 workings days. Thank you.

Dear Michael L.,

Could you please recommend NICs that you can support? I will buy one.

I just found a product of retail Intel unit:

https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Corp-I350T4V2-Retail-I350V2/dp/B00NEIF65Y/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=i350-t4+intel+retail&qid=1674105677&refinements=p_89%3AIntel&rnid=2528832011&s=electronics&sprefix=%2Caps%2C239&sr=1-1

Is it possible to get help from you to enable and use the pps function if I buy and use the product?

Please check or recommend other products.

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards,
